Land Acknowledgment

At REACH Support Inc. we respectfully acknowledge the land on which we work, live, and serve takes place on the traditional territory of many nations including the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas of the Credit, Wendat, Haudenosaunee, Tionontati, and Ojibwe Peoples.

Ontario is covered by 46 treaties and other agreements, and is home to many Indigenous Nations from across Turtle Island, including the Inuit and the Métis Peoples. These treaties and other agreements, including the One Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, are agreements to peaceably share and care for the land and its resources.

REACH Support acknowledges the foundation of these treaties to share resources, hence its mission to provide communities with resources that will strengthen, improve development and provide opportunities for children and youth.

We honour the enduring connection that Indigenous peoples have to this land, their cultures, and their communities.

As an organization dedicated to empowering families and uplifting children and youth, we recognize the importance of fostering growth and opportunity for all. We commit to building meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples and the Black community, learning from their wisdom, and working toward a future rooted in respect, justice, and inclusion.

We also recognize the diverse and vital contributions of immigrant communities who have made this land their home. We acknowledge the richness that newcomers bring, as well as the challenges they face in seeking opportunities for growth and success. We express our gratitude to the Indigenous communities who have cared for this land for generations and continue to enrich our collective well-being.

We commit to fostering a future of respect, inclusion, and opportunity for all, and we express our gratitude to the Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land for generations, as well as to the immigrants who continue to enrich it.
