About REACH Support

REACH stands for 'Rise, Empower, Advocate and Community Help, which originated from a simple act of kindness, when a friend of REACH Support Inc.’s founder, John Telfer approached him and asked what supports were available for a family who had lost their job due to the pandemic and was struggling to provide food for their children. Moved by the situation, John took it upon himself to be that support and made a trip to the grocery store and purchased food items for the family. This gesture of compassion turned into a regular commitment, as he continued to help the family fortnightly during his own shopping trips.

REACH Support has expanded its impact beyond providing food hampers. Today, the organization offers youth development programs and culturally appropriate supportive services tailored to those in need; with a strong emphasis on uplifting the Black, African, and Caribbean communities of Toronto. Our commitment is to ensure that these communities receive the resources and support necessary to thrive and succeed.
